Unlike the literacy rate, life expectancy, and death rate are higher than the world average. This information shows people in Cuba have a little of access to health care because life expectancy rate and birth rates are low. But also some people don't have access to health care because death rates and infant mortality rates are high.

Cuba Way of Life

 Way of Life Most people living in Cuba live in urban areas. Many people that live in cities have jobs related to government agencies or government-owned businesses. Some have there own private businesses and are self employed. The people on the rural areas work on farms or sugar mills.  Some common foods people in Cuba eat are chicken, pork, rice, and beans. Rice and beans are the most common side dish for Cubans. One of the popular dishes is called "picadillo" which includes pork, ground beef, or veal mixed with garlic, tomatoes, onions, and other ingredients. Most Cubans favorite sport is Baseball which arrived in Cuba in the mid- to late 1800s, and rapidly became Cuba national pastime. Art in Cuba has distinguished tradition, the government of Cuba strongly supports art work. Cuba Government

Cube Government Cuba is a socialist state. It's guided by a single political party, the Partido Comunista Cuba, also known as PCC. The Constitution recognizes the party as the leading authority in government and society.  The Central Committee, an administrative body elected by the Congress, is responsible for making the highest levels of policy, and it influences all government institutions.  The Central Committee also chooses members from other smaller groups called the Political Bureau, which handles daily policy and decision-making.   Country Economy  In the 1700's and early 1800's, sugar cane became Cuba's number 1 leading crop. People who grew sugar canes raised their crops on large plantations. These plantations depended on lots of human labor . Growers brought thousands of Africans to Cuba to make them slaves. T he government of Cuba is highly centralized. Provides many benefits for the people who live in Cuba, including free medical care and free education for many. However, political and economic freedom is limited. Cuba Religion

  Cuba Religion: The Roman Catholic Church is the largest church in Cuba. Other Cubans also believe in other religions like Santeria, and others that combine African religious beliefs with Roman Catholic ceremonies. Groups of protesters with widespread membership in Cuba include Methodists, Baptists, and Presbyterians. A belief that the spirits of the dead can communicate with the living is called Spiritualism, its common in many areas. There is a small Jewish community concentrated mostly in Havana.
